There’s one big problem with throwing a Pittsburgh Steelers party….there is so much to celebrate…where do you start! The Pittsburgh Steelers were founded in 1933, and are the oldest franchise in the AFC. They are also one of the most winning teams in football history. The Steelers have won multiple division and conference championships followed by Super Bowl win after Super Bowl win. Send out invitations that have a picture of a Super Bowl ring on them and the phrase “The Steelers, a winning team”.
Consider having a “Yeah, they’re just THAT good!” theme for you Steelers party. Encourage guests to come in Steelers team colors of black, gold and white. The day of the party put a large sign on your lawn or at the front door that proclaims “ Streeler Nation”. Make several banners and put the year of Steelers’ Super Bowl wins on each one.
Now make signs with the Steelers players who are in the Pro football Hall of Fame. This may take more than one sign. Let you guests tell what position they played and what their jersey number was. Give prizes for the correct answers. There are so many players and your guests will probably know most of the answers so consider limiting prizes to three or four per guest. Get DVDs of the Steelers Super Bowl wins and play highlights from each one. Get a life sized cut-out of Steely McBeam, the Steelers mascot and let your guests pose for pictures with him. They will have a great time.
